Absolutely Yes!! Profile building is the key
for PhD applications. Students
interested in research frequently take their paths through the master’s
programs and then convert to a PhD. But a direct application to PhD is also
acceptable in USA after Bachelor’s with certain criteria which the applicants
should fulfill.
It
involves enormous amount of hard work and efforts in 3-4years of Bachelor
programs. Students should carry out some research work in their field of
interest during Bachelors under their guides supported by lot many paper
publications in reputed journals. Bachelor’s degree should be enhanced by 3-4
months of later research work which should be presented in your application
documents in descent formats. LOR should come from your guides with whom you
worked. Your SOP should show your talent and ability to pursue your career in
research. One year research in MS
programs can also be the gateway to direct PhD programs after First Year of MS.
